OSHA Reaches Out to Hispanic Workers

Hispanic workers and their employers in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands are the primary audience for a new Spanish-language electronic newsletter.

Produced by OSHA, Capsulas de Salud y Seguridad will feature topics to educate and guide readers in their efforts to reduce hazards and improve safety and health in their workplaces.

OSHA Regional Administrator Patricia Clark says the electronic communication is the first of its kind from the agency. The clear, easily accessible format is intended to help workers and employers understand, identify, and eliminate hazards as early as possible.

Although it is targeted to readers in OSHA Region II, the newsletter is available to all. It is posted on the agency's Spanish-language website at http://www.osha.gov/as/opa/spanish/index.html and can be found on the publications page.
