Business and Legal Reports (BLR) has been honored with four Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX).
The awards, now in their 19th year, recognize excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence. Communications Concepts, publishers of Writing that Works, sponsors the awards. The firm says it received nearly 5,000 entries for this year's awards.
The firm presented 114 APEX Grand Awards in 11 categories and 1,521 APEX Awards of Excellence in 105 subcategories.
The firm recognized BLR with one APEX Grand Award and three APEX Awards of Excellence:
- The HR Daily Advisor won an APEX Grand Award in the category of Newsletters. The HR Daily Advisor, which is one of BLR's newest e-mail newsletters, has quick tips, news, and practical advice for HR professionals.
- The Workplace Wellness--Healthy Employees, Healthy Families, Healthy ROI Guidebook won an APEX Award of Excellence in the category of Brochures, Manuals and Reports, subcategory Health, Fitness and Medical Materials. BLR designed the guidebook to help employers develop an effective wellness program.
- Safety.BLR.com, a website that offers hundreds of training and compliance resources on workplace safety, won an APEX Award of Excellence in the category of Web & Intranet Sites, subcategory Web & Intranet Site Content & Writing. The site also won an APEX Award of Excellence in 2005.
- Click 'n Train: Back Safety, which delivers training on preventing back injuries on the job, won an APEX Award of Excellence in the category of Electronic & Video Publications, subcategory PowerPoint® Presentations.
- The Employer Resource Institute, a subsidiary of BLR, also won an APEX Award of Excellence in the category of Newsletters, subcategory New Newsletters, for its California Wage & Hour Advisor.
