OSHA safety meetings are required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to ensure that employers instruct employees in the safety and health aspects of their jobs. Other OSHA training standards make it employers’ responsibility to limit certain job assignments to only those employees who are “certified,” “competent,” or “qualified”—meaning that the employees have already had the appropriate OSHA safety meetings, inside or outside the workplace.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) believes that OSHA safety meetings are the basic essential of every employer’s safety and health program. Most OSHA standards require refresher training meetings whenever there are changes in the regulations, job procedures, equipment, PPE, job assignments and responsibilities, or written plans, such as an emergency action plan. Refresher osha safety meetings are also required whenever employee performance indicates that skills or knowledge are inadequate.
