National Summary

OSHA regulates hazardous materials under Subpart H of 29 CFR 1910, which covers the safety and health of employees who handle hazardous materials in the workplace. Specific materials and activities covered include compressed gases; acetylene; hydrogen; oxygen; nitrous oxide; flammable and combustible liquids; spray finishing using flammable and combustible materials; explosives and blasting agents; storage and handling of liquefied petroleum gases; and storage and handling of anhydrous ammonia.
