Lockout/Tagout (Construction)

National Summary

OSHA's construction rules for lockout/tagout are for electrical circuits and concrete and masonry construction. For electrical, controls that are to be deactivated during the course of work on energized or deenergized equipment or circuits must be tagged. For concrete and masonry, no employee is permitted to perform maintenance or repair activity on equipment where inadvertent operation could occur and cause injury unless all potentially hazardous energy sources have been locked out and tagged.
