National Summary

OSHA's construction standards for personal protective equipment (PPE) are, in some cases, more detailed than the general industry rules, and in other cases, less detailed, depending on the part of the body protected. The construction standard for respiratory PPE (29 CFR 1926.103) is identical to the general industry standard. Other standards, such as lifelines, safety belts, lanyards, and safety nets, only appear in the construction standard. References to ANSI standards in the construction rules generally reference older versions of the ANSI standards than the corresponding general industry references.
