Chemical Hazards
National Summary

This topic includes general information about chemical hazards, chemical spills, and safety measures, as well as training materials about substances including cleaning products and agents, detergents, bleaches, pesticides, solvents, and other chemicals not covered under more specific topics.

Numerous OSHA standards regulate and limit exposure to individual hazardous chemicals. In addition, all employers whose workers are exposed to hazardous chemicals must comply with OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard (HCS or HazCom).
