Excerpt from "2016 HazCom Compliance Deadline: Strategies for Conquering HCS Training and GHS Adoption "
As of June 1, 2016, HazCom’s alliance with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) is fully implemented and companies need to be in full compliance with the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) revisions. In order to be compliant with GHS adoption, employers must have completed any necessary updates to hazard communication programs, including workplace labeling procedures. Additionally, all affected employees must be trained on any new hazards identified during the manufacturers’, distributors’, or importers’ chemical reclassification process. Learn more with this on-demand webinar in which Tom Burgess, an industrial hygienist and certified safety professional with T&M Associates, will outline your HCS training obligations and offer best practices for becoming fully compliant with GHS adoption.
