Excerpt from "Can a Husband Sue His Injured Wife's Employer for Ruining Their Sex Life?"
Nurse Pam Burns looked over the medical record of the patient she was about to draw blood from. She noted that the patient was infected with hepatitis C, a liver disease caused by a bloodborne virus. She pulled on her gloves and carefully proceeded to draw blood. When she was finished, she looked around for a sharps container to dispose of the needle, but couldn't find one. She took the used needle with her as she headed out the door to bring the blood sample to the lab down the hall. As she turned a corner, she tripped over a small child sitting on the floor in the hallway and somehow, the needle stuck her in the arm.
