OSHA renews alliance to protect airline workers

OSHA has renewed its alliance with the Airline Ground Safety Panel to address hazards and injuries related to operating aviation ground support equipment. The panel is an industry/labor partnership of 11 airline companies and 3 unions representing 350,000 workers.

During the 2-year agreement, the organizations will develop materials that highlight ways to prevent slips, trips, and falls and other hazards while operating ground safety equipment. The alliance will also conduct studies to improve the safety of ground personnel.

Through its alliance program OSHA works with unions, consulates, trade and professional groups, faith-based organizations, and businesses to prevent workplace fatalities, injuries, and illnesses.
