Canadian film shows impact of workplace accidents

Before Day’s End is a new documentary film by the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC), an independent Canadian labor union representing 50,000 workers.

The film provides first-hand accounts from victims and family members. It chronicles the details of five separate accidents and their aftermath. In one scene, a father whose son was pinned and suffocated by a malfunctioning lift says, “I never had a meaningful conversation with him after that day. There was a point in time where I guess my prayer might have turned from ‘Let’s get him back’ to ‘Let’s let him go.’”
