National Summary

Many OSHA standards for general industry and construction workplaces explicitly require employers to train employees in the safety and health aspects of their jobs. Some rules make it the employer's responsibility to limit certain job assignments to employees who are "certified," "competent," or "qualified." Refer to the complete analysis for a chart detailing the OSHA standards that require training.

For assistance in determining your training needs and selecting appropriate training materials, refer to our Guide to Safety Training Resources.
