National Summary

OSHA encourages comprehensive occupational safety and health programs. During the opening portion of a facility inspection, it is common for the compliance officer to address this issue. Although safety and health programs are not required, they are invaluable in setting the proper tone for a pervasive safety culture. Through such a program, a clear corporate philosophy is communicated and numerous rules, strategies, policies, and responsibilities, are specified.
