The COVID-19 pandemic brought many businesses to a halt and required them to send their employees home, where they could work safely. Because they provide essential services, commercial trucking businesses cannot cease operations during a pandemic if the entire country is to receive critical supplies. Commercial truck drivers face the difficult challenge during a pandemic of remaining healthy as they haul the freight that keeps the country going. Because a majority of drivers perform their job alone without direct supervision by their employer, it is essential that employers inform their drivers as to how to keep their cab clean and how to avoid close contact with those with whom they must interact, such as truck stop attendants, store workers, dock workers, and other truck drivers.
