Training (Construction)
National Summary
Several OSHA construction safety standards explicitly require employers to train employees in the safety and health aspects of their jobs. Some construction standards make it the employer’s responsibility to limit certain job assignments to employees who are “certified,” “competent,” or “qualified.” Where construction standards do not provide specific training requirements, the training requirements of the safety training and education standard (29 CFR 1926.21) apply to construction activities.
